Can you help John Harvi find the missing millions and the disappeared CEO?
Why would anyone want the leading tech company to go under, especially its CEO?
In 1992, just before the release of Windows 3.1, Michael Leone graduated from law school. Something he didn’t want to do in the first place. His true love was technology, more specifically hardware. He started developing basic devices such as modems and sound cards.
In 2006 he made his big breakthrough with the launch of a router that allowed speeds between networks that was never seen before, the USEM11.
From that moment on, the mission was to enhance all devices with speed. When the demand for high speed hard drives came about and the SSD drive became popular, USEM found a way to make the fastest disks in the industry.
In February 2020 they hit another research breakthrough and created a disk that was up to 50x as fast as the competition. NASA wanted an exclusive deal in order to use the SSD disks in their next mission. A week before the deal, the research disappeared and the deal didn’t go through. USEM got in trouble and didn’t generate enough revenue to cover its costs. In September 2020, the CEO disappeared with millions in money and knowledge, never to be seen again.
You are the assistant to John Garvi, a lawyer who is tasked by the IRS to see if the company can be saved or taken over by a competitor and save as much of the company as possible. Finding out how the research disappeared or finding proof that malicious intent was involved might just save the company. Finding the CEO and the embezzled millions would be the ideal solution but that seems very unlikely... unless you can help?
